Special Graduate Schools

Introduction

The school opened in November 1980, not only to provide instruction in theories and methods of education adaptable to social change,

but also to cultivate independent qualities and creative ability in educators so that they may be able to apply their skills to contribute to the national development. The enrollment quota is 210.

Programs offered

The school offers master programs in Education with the following majors : Educational Administration, Counseling Psychology, Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Korean Language Education, English Language Education, Japanese Language Education, Common Social Sciences Education, Information Processing Education, Mathematics Education, Common Sciences Education, Home Economics Education, Physical Education, Fine Arts Education, Music Education, and Nutrition Education Classes are held daytimes during the school recesses as may be warranted. Graduates who have met all the pertinent requirements are awarded Master of Education (Ed.M.) degrees.

Length of Programs and Residence

Master programs normally extend over 5 semesters, or 6 terms (2 terms a year) when classes are held during seasonal recesses. The students' residence is limited to 8 semesters for the former and 10 terms for the latter.

Admission

Persons holding bachelor degrees awarded at Korean colleges or accredited as equivalent by the Ministry of Education are eligible to apply. Admission is granted through an entrance examination which includes written tests of major topics and an oral test.

Application

Recruitment is carried out biannually, in November for the spring semester (March-August) and in June for the fall semester (September-February).

Application is completed by submitting the following information to the school :

  • 1) Application form (supplied by the school) properly filled in
  • 2) Certificate of degree conferred or expected, or equivalent
  • 3) Curriculum Vitae
  • 4) Two photos, 4x5cm, taken within three months of the date of application.

Course of Instruction

All courses carry 2 credit points each.
